Docker

Docker is a platform for packaging an application together with its dependencies into a container, so it runs the same way on a developer machine as it does on a server. Containers share the host kernel rather than running a full guest operating system.

How DevHub uses Docker

DevHub packages client applications as containers so the environment that passes review is the environment that runs in production. The Docker & Container Fundamentals course exists because the failure we are most often called in to fix is a system that works on one machine and nowhere else.
